Learn what each part of the P1 editor does and how your edits reach your live site.
The P1 editor is where you build and change your site's pages. You work with blocks that your developers built: you choose them, arrange them on a page, and fill in their text, images, and links. Your developers decide what each block can do, and you decide what goes in it.

This page walks through the editor screen from top to bottom: the header (1), the toolbar with Go live (2), the left panel (3), the canvas (4), and the right panel (5). It also explains how your edits reach your live site.
The header runs across the top of the editor.
Workstream switcher: Shows which Workstream you're in, such as Live or your Workstream's name.
Page navigator: Shows the path of the page you're editing, such as /about. Open it to find a page or create one.
Open page in new tab: An icon that opens the page's address on your site in a new browser tab. Your site shows only what's on Live.
Account menu: Holds the option to log out.
If your site's editor links to the dashboard, the P1 logo at the left opens it. Administrators use the dashboard to manage sites, people, and settings.
Below the header, a toolbar holds controls for the whole screen.

Toggle left panel and Toggle right panel hide or show the side panels.
Undo and Redo step back and forward through your recent edits.
Focus hides both panels and widens the canvas. Press Esc to leave Focus mode.
The Publish button and publishes the page you're on. In a Workstream, it reads Go live and opens the Review Changes screen, where you compare every changed page with Live and resolve conflicts. Nothing reaches Live until you confirm there.
The left panel has four views, each opened from its icon on the left edge.

Blocks (1) lists the blocks you can add. Drag one onto the canvas to add it to the page.
Outline (2) shows the page's blocks as a list, in order. Use it to find and select a block on a long page.
History (3) lists saved versions of the page. You can preview an earlier version and revert the page to it. History appears when your role can edit pages and your site keeps version history.
Data sources (4) lists the data sources connected to your site, which you can use to bring external content into a page.

The canvas (1) in the middle shows the page as visitors see it, with your edits. Select a block on the canvas to work with it; the selected block (2) gets an outline. Some blocks let you type their text right on the canvas. To preview the page at another width, select the viewport button at the bottom right of the canvas, then select a size: Small, Medium, Large, or Full-width. Each size is an icon; point to one to see its name, such as Switch to Small viewport. When the menu is closed, the button shows the size you chose: a phone for Small, a tablet for Medium, a monitor for Large, and four arrows for Full-width.
The right panel shows fields you can change (3). It has two tabs.

Blocks (1) shows the fields of the block you selected, such as its image or link. Selecting a block on the canvas switches to this tab. This tab is different from the left panel's Blocks view, which lists blocks to add.
Page (2) shows fields for the whole page.
Which fields a block has depends on how your developers built it. Colors and fonts are defined in the code of your site's design. If you find gaps in what you are able to accomplish with your blocks, contact the developers of your site.
The editor shows "You are viewing this page in read-only mode." and locks the fields and controls. To change your role, ask an admin on your account. See Roles and Permissions.
